Casting the Circle (1949)

It is most convenient to mark the circle with chalk, paint or otherwise, to show where it is; but marks on the
carpet may be utilized. Furniture may be placed to indicate the bounds. The only circle that matters is the one
drawn before every ceremony with either a duly consecrated Magic Sword or an Athame. The circle is usually
nine feet in diameter unless made for some very special purpose. There are two outer circles, each six inches apart,
so the third circle has a diameter of eleven feet.

[1] Having chosen a place proper, take the sickle or scimitar of Art or a Witch’s Athame, if thou mayest obtain it,
and stick it into the centre, then take a cord, and ’twere well to use the Cable Tow for this, and loop it over the
Instrument, four and one-half feet, and so trace out the circumference of the circle, which must be traced either
with the Sword or the knife with the black hilt, or it be of little avail, but ever leave open a door towards the
North. Make in all 3 circles, one within the other, and write names of power between these.

[2] First draw circle with Magic Sword or Athame.

[3] Consecrate Salt and Water: Touch water with Athame, saying, “I exorcise thee, O creature of Water, that thou
cast out from Thee all the impurities and uncleannesses of the Spirits of the World of Phantasm, so they may
harm me not, in the names of Aradia and Cernunnos.”

[4] Touching Salt with Athame, say, “The Blessings of Aradia and Cernunnos be upon this creature of Salt, and let
all malignity and hindrance be cast forth hencefrom, and let all good enter herein, for without Thee man cannot
live, wherefore I bless thee and invoke thee, that thou mayest aid me.”

[5] Then put the Salt into the water.

[6] Sprinkle with exorcised water.

[7] Light candles; say, “I exorcise thee, O Creature of Fire, that every kind of Phantasm may retire from thee, and be
unable to harm or deceive in any way, in the names of Aradia and Cernunnos.”

[8] Caution initiate (if any); warn companions; enter circle and close doors with 3 pentagrams.

[9] Proclaim object of working

[10] Circumambulate 3 times or more before commencing work.

[11] Summon: “I summon, stir, and Call thee up, thou Mighty Ones of the East, South, West, and North.” Salute
and draw pentacle with Magic Sword or Athame, the first stroke being from the top down to the left

The Ritual Method for Goetic Words of Power

: 1. Tune in to how you are feeling in your current state. Feel what brought you to this magick regardless of what it is. Breathe and tune into your current state of being.
2. Feel what your desire is and feel that sensation of lacking your desire. How does it make you feel emotionally? Allow those emotions to arise fully and without restrictions.
3. Begin to scan the sigil. Starting at the top on the left side of the black dot, scan the outer circle counter clockwise. When done, scan the triangle starting from the top and going counter clockwise.
4. Gaze at the sigil of the spirit in the center of the triangle and know that therein lies the power to resolve whatever problem you have. To fulfill whatever lack you are feeling. This sigil is bursting with power to help you and a desire to do so. Feel a sense of gratitude welling up for that.
5. Say the words:
Hear me Bune! It is my will that you ________. (state your will 3 times in 2 sentences or less) Bune! I will give you public praise as a reward upon fulfillment. So that others may hear of your power and call upon you. Go in peace and cause no harm or loss to myself or my loved ones. Hayah! Hoveh! Yiyeh! Shalom! That is the end of the ritual. ————————–————– Realize as you say these 4 phrases at the end of the ritual that you are the Eternal Spirit. We do alot of Magick and always with the intent of getting things and making things happen. Nothing is wrong with this. But these words (which mean Was, Is, Will be, and Peace) remind us that we are not an object amongst other objects. Bound by time, space, and form. We are formless consciousness. We are not our name. Nor are we our body or our past experiences. We are not that. Imagine if you never had a body or had a birth. You are that! We are beyond birth and death. Beyond time and space. We are neither lowly mortals, begging God and spirits for help, nor are we some Supreme Diety commanding angels and spirits to help us. There is no high or low. Only ISness. Only Pure Being. This is the true source of freedom and power. This is the true source of “Shalom” which means Peace and Harmony. This is how we can release our desire for results. Entering this state of mind, this state of being, we have no lust for results at all. Consequentially, and somewhat ironically this causes our magick to grow immensely in power. When we cease seeking results and rest in the contentment of our true nature, all that we desire flows to us with ease.
